GDPRControl is an independent website where we, Anders Svensson and Jan Ove Skogheim, share practical experiences and insights from working with technology, data and privacy-related challenges.

Between us, we have decades of experience in software development, data platforms, marketing technology and IT management.

Why we started GDPRControl

We have both worked on projects where marketing, IT and legal teams need to collaborate to find solutions involving personal data.

These projects can be surprisingly difficult.

Marketing teams want to use data to understand customers and improve business results. IT teams must build secure, reliable and maintainable systems. Legal teams need to ensure that personal data is processed appropriately and that privacy risks are understood and managed.

All three perspectives are important, but they don't always fit together easily.

Too often, we have seen solutions where one perspective dominates. The result might be unnecessary privacy risks, ineffective marketing or overly complicated technical infrastructure.

We believe better solutions are possible when these perspectives are considered together.

What we write about

On GDPRControl, we explore practical challenges involving GDPR, marketing consent, analytics, advertising technology, data collection and privacy-aware system design.

We share lessons from our professional experience, explain technical and regulatory considerations, and discuss different ways of approaching common problems.

Our goal is not to present a single perfect solution or promise guaranteed GDPR compliance.

Instead, we want to help readers understand the tradeoffs, ask better questions and make more informed decisions.
